Our Brat Fry & Corn Roast is today, and we are already busy getting everything set for a great open. This event will be providing funding for the Missions of Honor flights for local Fox Valley area veterans.
100% of today's proceeds will go directly to Missions of Honor and will be presented to them in the near future.
The Brat Fry begins at 11:00 and will continue until 7:00pm tonight.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE - AUGUST 18/19, 2026
For those attending today's Brat Fry and Corn Roast Extravaganza for Missions of Honor, the construction gods are looking out for us today.
Bluemound Drive is 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍 from College Ave for direct access to the American Legion Post 38's event.
Wisconsin Ave is closed at Bluemound but for today - College and Bluemound is open!!!

𝐓𝐎𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐎𝐖 𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐘!!!
The Appleton American Legion Post 38 along with The Bar-Lynndale will be hosting our annual Brat Fry & Corn Roast Extravaganza!
We are making final preparations for tomorrow’s event, and it is an all-hands on deck evolution. The only thing that needs to be done is for our loyal supporters to show up en masse to support the Missions of Honor Flights for local area veterans.
Missions of Honor is a project near and dear to our hearts as some of Post 38 veterans have experienced the camaraderie associated with going on flights to their respective memorials. These flights are life-changing not only for the veterans, but also for those who accompany their veteran.
Last year, we raised $16,000 for Missions of Honor (Old Glory Honor Flights), but this year, we are compelled to do even more. One hundred percent (100%) of the proceeds raised during our Brat Fry & Corn Roast Extravaganza will go to Missions of Honor. Won’t 𝒀𝑶𝑼 help us in achieving this goal?
Additionally, our Appleton Auxiliary Unit 38 will be selling baked goods and caramel corn for a nominal fee. The Auxiliary is also collecting school supplies and will have a collection box available.
We will have the Fox Valley Humane Association joining us taking collections for those affected by recent weather events and for the Pet Pantry in helping military personnel (active-duty, veterans, and retirees) and their families to care for the most vulnerable – our fur babies.
Finally, we want to thank everyone in advance. Tomorrow will be a busy day, but your attendance gives us purpose in knowing what we are doing honors our veterans in one of the best ways possible.

The Appleton American Legion Post 38 is once again supporting our veterans by raising funds so they can participate in the Missions of Honor Flights.
We are just days away from our annual Brat Fry & Corn Roast Extravaganza.
You may notice a new name, but the mission is still the same – flying veterans to their memorials and areas of service so they can connect on a personal level.
For example:
- Honor Flights: One-day trips for veterans, including visits to Washington, D.C. memorials for those who served prior to 1975, with priority for World War II and Korean War veterans.
- Freedom to Liberty: A Mission of Healing Retreat: Multi-day retreats for veterans of the Global War on Terrorism, offering reflection, connection, and healing in locations like New York City
- Special Missions: Tailored experiences for veterans of specific conflicts, such as Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, providing opportunities for remembrance and recognition.

The Missions of Honor Brat Fry Extravaganza has added another host to our event. The Bar - Lynndale has graciously volunteered to provide a corn roast in addition to our brat fry.

The Bar on Lynndale is providing corn (and additional support for the event). Menu options include brats, hot dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob, chips and refreshments. There is a post below which explains all pricing and food options available for purchase during our brat fry & corn roast.

𝘽𝙍𝙀𝘼𝙆𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙉𝙀𝙒𝙎 - 𝘾𝙊𝙉𝙎𝙏𝙍𝙐𝘾𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 𝙐𝙋𝘿𝘼𝙏𝙀
The Appleton American Legion Post 38 has been made aware of a significant closure starting August 17, 2026.
Outagamie County will begin construction on new watermain lines that will close down Bluemound Dr. from College Ave. to Wisconsin Ave. This is a significant stretch of roadwork and as such will also impact how traffic flows, especially when coming to Post 38.
Sadly, this will also impact traffic trying to get to our Brat Fry (for the 2nd year in a row). We are asking our faithful patrons and longtime supporters to use the frontage road as a way of arriving to Post 38.
While Post 38 understands the frustration associated with this extended closure, we are also well-aware of the aging infrastructure which also impacts our business, as well as other businesses along the Bluemound Dr. corridor.
Please DO NOT let this inconvenience deter you from patronizing Post 38 or from supporting our Brat Fry & Corn Roast for the Missions of Honor.

FOX VALLEY HUMANE ASSOCIATION
The Appleton American Legion Post 38 Family is honored to have the Fox Valley Humane Association present at our annual Brat Fry & Corn Roast Extravaganza. They are one of the highlights at our annual event, and their adorable furry ambassadors win the hearts of all those who visit their display.
This year, their presence is even more meaningful as the focus is two-fold; bring awareness to current needs in the Fox Valley area while simultaneously assisting our veterans and their families when it comes to some of our most vulnerable during times of emergency – our pets.
To ensure citizens are fully aware of where their donations are going this year, donations will be separated into two categories.
The first initiative are donations targeting relief specifically for individuals affected by the tornado. We understand how stressful something like this is on us as humans, now imagine what it must be like for a pet to have their environment disrupted.
For the second initiative, the Fox Valley Humane Association, will continue its ongoing support for their Pet Pantry providing resources to military families and the broader community. Their military outreach includes active-duty personnel, retirees, veterans and their families. The Fox Valley Humane Association’s support of our military personnel has been well received and greatly appreciated.
Our Post 38 Family hopes that you will also help to support these initiatives during our Brat Fry & Corn Roast Extravaganza. As always, we thank the community for their continued support.
